انتشارات سیمای دانش از سال های دور، زمانی که مقابل دانشگاه تهران انگشت شمار بودند همکاران ناشر و کتابفروش (یاد باد، آن روزگاران، یاد باد) کار خود را با مشقت بسیار و در شرایط سخت شروع کرد. با علاقه ای وصف ناپذیر و کوششی مضاعف در سال 1376 با اخذ مجوز نشر از وزارت ارشاد اسلامی رسماً در امر نشر و پخش کتابهای دانشگاهی با بهره گیری از کارشناسان و متخصصین و هیات تحریریه ای قوی در رشته های فنی مهندسی، عمران، معماری، علوم پایه و گردشگری با مدیریتی مدبرانه و جدیتی سترک تا به آنجا پیش رفت که هم اکنون به بیش از 1000 عنوان کتاب چاپ اول، چاپ مجدد و چاپ های مکرر نائل آمده است.

قابل ذکر است این انتشارات در امر پخش کتاب به سراسر کشور پهناور ایران بنا به درخواست های همکاران شهرستانی، اعم از درخواست های تلفنی مشتریان و علاقمندان، و چه از طریق فروشگاه اینترنتی، یکی از موفق ترین ناشرین کشور می باشد، و با عضویت فعال در انجمن فرهنگی ناشران کتاب های دانشگاهی در زمره خدمتگزاران به علم و فرهنگ این مرز و بوم به خود می بالد.
